Mumbai Airport News: DRI Busts ₹1.48 Crore Mobile And Electronics Smuggling Racket At CSMIA, Arrests 7 Including Mastermind
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai busted a mobile and electronic smuggling racket separate cases arrested seven persons for attempting to smuggle mobile phones, electronic and consumer goods valued at Rs 1.48 crore crore into India through Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).

Mumbai: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai busted a mobile and electronic smuggling racket separate cases arrested seven persons for attempting to smuggle mobile phones, electronic and consumer goods valued at Rs 1.48 crore crore into India through Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).
The DRI officials intercepted the six passengers — Suleman Shaikh, Sirajuddin Patel, Paras Palekar, Shafi Shaikh, Faraz Shaikh, and Aman Talwani — who arrived from Sharjah on an Air Arabia flight with the contraband items including mobile phones, laptops, tobacco and cosmetics.

The suspects were apprehended near the airport's exit after crossing the green channel and 118 latest high-end models of iPhone and Google Pixel mobiles, 102 refurbished laptops, 95 kg of Virginia tobacco and 216 pieces of Pakistan-origin cosmetics prohibited in India were seized.
The questioning of the six suspects led to the arrest of the alleged mastermind of the smuggling syndicate in Mumbai.
