Palghar, Maharashtra: In a powerful display of police reform and public-first governance, Commissioner Madhukar Pandey led a dual-purpose event on May 9 at Samvad Hall, recognizing outstanding police work under the state’s 100-Day Action Plan and facilitating the return of seized property worth over ₹2.68 crore to rightful owners.
The Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar (MBVV) Police Commissionerate secured the top rank statewide, earning 84.57 points in an evaluation conducted by the autonomous Quality Council of India (QCI). The 100-day drive, which ran from January 7 to April 16, 2025, aimed at enhancing administrative effectiveness and promoting transparent, citizen-friendly policing through office reforms and process improvements.
During the monthly crime review meeting, Commissioner Pandey honored the top three performing police stations for their exceptional contribution to the initiative. The Mira Road and Kashimira Police Stations (jointly) secured the first place, followed by Vasai Police Station in second, and Mandvi Police Station in the third position. All were awarded certificates of appreciation.
The event also featured a property restitution program, where victims of various crimes were reunited with seized items recovered during investigations. The Commissioner personally handed over property valued at ₹2.68 crore, returning them to complainants from police stations under Zone 1. Beneficiaries of the program expressed their appreciation for the prompt and transparent resolution process.
Adding to the achievements, all police stations and offices under Zone 1, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Gaikwad, received ISO-SMART certification.
This certification reflects their compliance with international standards for policing efficiency and management. DCP Gaikwad, along with Assistant Commissioners, Senior Police Inspectors, and other key personnel, were formally felicitated for this accomplishment.
Additionally, officers and staff who played vital roles in implementing the 100-Day Action Plan were awarded commendation certificates, underlining their commitment to public service and operational integrity.
