Mira Bhayandar News: All Zone I MBVV Police Stations Get ISO Certification For Quality, Tech-Driven Policing
Headed by DCP-Prakash Gaikwad, the police stations and ACP offices in Zone I have experienced a radical transformation since the elevation of the rural force to a full-fledged and unified (Thane and Palghar) police commissionerate in 2020.

All seven police stations and three offices of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) offices falling under the jurisdiction of the Zone I attached to the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai (MBVV) Police Commissionerate have received the coveted ISO 9001: 2015 certification. ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization.
Headed by DCP-Prakash Gaikwad, the police stations and ACP offices in Zone I have experienced a radical transformation since the elevation of the rural force to a full-fledged and unified (Thane and Palghar) police commissionerate in 2020.
Some of the parameters on the basis of which the certification was awarded include- proper maintenance of records, disposal of junked vehicles as per due process of law, creation of no-plastic and green oxygen zones, regular awareness campaigns, installation of fire fighting equipment backed by trained personnel for handling, innovative approach to gather public feedback via quick response (QR)-based reviews, smart electronic-beat (e-beat) patrolling system, I-bikes (investigation motorcycles) to collect forensic evidences, grievance redressal day every week, dedicated WhatsApp groups to remain connected with elderly citizens living alone, focus on safety of children and women, returning the recovered stolen/ lost property to rightful owners, cleanliness, upgrading infrastructure, prompt response to distress calls on helpline 112 and emphasis on the use of technology.
“Getting stamped with an ISO certification is indicative of the fact that our constant efforts towards developing visitor friendly, easy access, proper guidance and tech-savvy upgradation initiatives to impart quality services at police stations and other offices has been acknowledged. We will ensure that the standards are maintained.” said police commissioner- Madhukar Pandey.

Returned Stolen/ Lost Valuables Worth More Than Rs. 6.89 Crore and Rs.2.10 Crore to Owners in 2024 and first three months in 2025 respectively.
