MHADA Lodges Complaint Against 19 People For Forging Documents To Obtain Houses; Kherwadi Police Arrests Accused
Nineteen individuals allegedly secured MHADA houses fraudulently using forged names and documents from the land acquisition list, prompting MHADA to file a complaint leading to a case with the Kherwadi police amid ongoing embezzlement concerns.

Mumbai: Instances of house embezzlement from MHADA's master list have occurred previously, and though there have been claims of ongoing irregularities, an incident involving irregularities in the distribution of houses from the master list in the Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board has surfaced once more.
Nineteen individuals have reportedly obtained MHADA houses using forged names and documents in the land acquisition list, leading to a case being filed with the Kherwadi police following a complaint from MHADA.

Avadhoot Belnekar (44), the Property Manager of MHADA's Mumbai Building Repair and Reconstruction Board, lodged a complaint regarding the case of misappropriation of houses. On August 1, the Kherwadi police filed a case against Suresh Chikne, Fatima Lewis, Yusuf Mohammad Amin Sakinabi Amin Syed, Gangaram Sakpal, Shalini Kavtekar, Hazra Malik, Tanaji Tawde, Laxman Dalvi, Ayesha Sheikh, Piyush Shashikant Doshi, Dilip Bane, Deepti Bane, Hirabai Kadam, Yusuf Qurban Javrawala, Laxman Dalvi, Rajesh Dalvi, Dattaram Phatak, Baban Dongre, Namdev Phatak, and Bala Raoji Bhosale for acquiring homes through the use of forged documents and lists. Authorities indicated that the inquiry regarding the case is in progress.
