Maharashtra: Woman Dragged, Run Over By Speeding SUV Outside Shinde Sena MP's Office In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar; Chilling CCTV Footage Goes Viral

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A shocking road accident occurred in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where a speeding SUV ran over a woman walking along the road, after dragging her for several metres before stopping. The incident reportedly took place right in front of the office of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MP Sandipan Bhumre and was captured on CCTV, footage of which has now surfaced.

According to a SaamTV report citing police sources, the accident took place on Wednesday, August 13. The woman, who was walking along the roadside, was hit with full force. After dragging her for a few metres, the driver and his companion moved the seriously injured woman to the side of the road. Shockingly, instead of helping her or calling for medical aid, both men got back into the SUV and fled the scene.

CCTV Footage Captures Chilling Accident

The CCTV footage of the accident, which emerged on Thursday, August 14, has sparked outrage in the city. A video shared on YoutTube by Marathi news portal, SaamTV shows exact scenes of the horror.

The CCTV video shows the car approaching at high speed before hitting the woman. The impact was so severe that the car’s right wheel ran over her body. The woman was dragged a short distance before the car finally stopped. Two young men were then seen stepping out of the vehicle.

The injured woman lay on the roadside until passers-by and locals rushed to her aid. She was then shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (popularly known as Ghati Hospital) for treatment. Her condition is reported to be critical.

Case Registered, Manhunt Launched To Trace Accused

Police registered a case and launched a search operation to trace the car and its occupants. Cops are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to track the vehicle’s route after it fled. Authorities have assured that the culprits will be identified and arrested soon.
