Maharashtra: School Principal Dies By Suicide After Being Caught Drinking Alcohol Inside Classroom In Nanded

Nanded: A tragic incident occurred in Limboti village, Nanded district, where a 55-year-old school principal allegedly died by suicide after being caught drinking alcohol inside classroom. The principal was found hanging inside his house by his family members. The incident occurred at his home in Malakoli village which is located in Loha Taluka on Thursday (December 19).
Incident at School
As per reports from TOI, the principal, who was in-charge of a Zilla Parishad school, was reportedly consuming alcohol in a classroom on Wednesday (December 18) morning. Few students saw the principal engaged in the act, they immediately rushed to their homes and informed their parents. Their parents informed other people in the village after which the news spread quickly throughout the village.
Investigation and Immediate Action
The block education officer was informed of the incident and sent three teachers to the school to investigate. Upon their arrival, they found the principal in an inebriated state and he was also unable to speak properly. The villagers recorded the incident and made the video viral on social media, this further escalated the matter.
Tragic Outcome
The principal returned to his home in Malakoli on the same evening. However, on Thursday (December 19) morning, his family found him hanging in his room. Police suspect that fear of public backlash may have driven him to take this extreme step of ending his life.

The Malakoli police have registered a case of accidental death and have initiated an investigation in connection with the matter. The police is suspecting that the principal has committed suicide, however, the exact reasons will only be determined after recording statements from his family, school staff and officials from the education department.
