The state government has announced plans to train five lakh teachers across one lakh schools to incorporate value-based learning into the curriculum. To facilitate this, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday between the School Education Department and the Shantilal Muttha Foundation.

The agreement, signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, marks the beginning of the 'Value Enhancement 3.0' programme, which will systematically embed value-based activities into school education. Through this initiative, one crore students will benefit from an enhanced learning experience that emphasises ethical and moral development alongside academic progress.

The 'Value Enhancement 3.0' programme will focus on three major areas: transforming teaching and learning methodologies, providing updated activity booklets, and creating opportunities for the practical inculcation of values among students.

To ensure relevance and effectiveness, the activities have been revised to align with the new National Education Policy and the National Curriculum Framework. New activity booklets, tailored for Grades 1 to 8 and available in Marathi, Hindi, and English, have also been introduced.

The Shantilal Muttha Foundation will be responsible for training the teachers and overseeing the delivery of value-based content to students. Officials highlighted that this would be the largest value education initiative in the country, representing a landmark in educational reform efforts.
