It is said that Bhujbal is unhappy over being denied the opportunity to unfurl the national flag at Nashik, the district he has represented for more than two decades. BJP minister Girish Mahajan is attending the Independence Day event at Nashik.

Bhujbal said that since he was unable to go to Gondia and the government has decided to depute Lodha for the flag hoisting. On the other hand, Babasaheb Patil, minister for cooperation and the district guardian minister for Gondia, cited a knee surgery for his inability to grace the event.
