Truck Driver Killed In Rear-End Crash On Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway Near Palghar | Representational Image

Palghar, Maharashtra: An Eicher truck driver was killed late Sunday night after his vehicle crashed into the rear of an unknown vehicle on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway (NH-48) near Kharadtara. The deceased driver, who was also the accused in the accident, sustained fatal injuries.

The incident occurred on June 22, 2025 at approximately 11:30 pm on the Gujarat-bound lane of the highway. According to the complaint filed by Atul Arvind Kaushik (19), the Eicher truck, driven by Ravi Surendra Sharma (29), was traveling at high speed and in a negligent manner when it collided with the vehicle ahead.

Sharma, a resident of Buhana, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, suffered severe injuries to his right hand, both knees, both feet, and private parts, which proved fatal. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mandvi Police Station immediately registered a case under sections 106(1), 281, 125(a), and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, along with section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
