Ganeshotsav 2025: Panvel Municipal Corporation Launches Online Mandal Permission System, Pushes Eco-Friendly Celebrations
With the aim of ensuring the smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the upcoming public Ganesh festival, the Panvel Municipal Corporation conducted a planning meeting on Wednesday. The meeting took place at the Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Auditorium.

Panvel: With the aim of ensuring the smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the upcoming public Ganesh festival, the Panvel Municipal Corporation conducted a planning meeting on Wednesday. The meeting took place at the Adya Krantiveer Vasudev Balwant Phadke Auditorium.
Online System Introduced for Ganesh Mandals
During the session, the corporation demonstrated the newly introduced online system for granting permissions to Ganesh mandals (public festival groups) through a live demo.
Eco-Friendly Competition and Guidelines Explained
Authorities also shared details about this year’s eco-friendly Ganesh Festival Competition and informed mandals about guidelines issued by the police department.
Strict Adherence to Court Norms on Pandals, Ads
Commissioner Mangesh Chitale emphasized the need for all public mandals to obtain official permissions for their pandals (temporary structures) and advertisements as per High Court guidelines. He further urged that Ganesh idols under 6 feet must be immersed only in artificial ponds created by the Corporation.
Raigad Security Board to Help Manage Traffic
To manage traffic during the festivities, he informed that additional security personnel will be deployed through the Raigad Security Board. He also directed mandals to dispose of offerings and floral waste (Nirmalya) responsibly using the corporation’s collection vans.
Police Urge CCTV, Sound Control & Volunteers
Police Inspector Rajendra Kote urged mandals to appoint round-the-clock volunteers for idol safety, install CCTV cameras, and maintain sound levels within legal limits. He appealed for strict adherence to rules and cooperation with the police.

The meeting also covered multiple issues and suggestions raised by the mandals. Deputy Commissioner Swaroop Kharge presented the "Saptasootri" (seven-point agenda) for promoting eco-friendly Ganesh celebrations and explained details of the competitions for public and household decorations, idol donations, and artificial immersion arrangements.
