Drunk Man Makes Hoax Call To Police Of 'Terrorists Entering Mumbai', Cops Take Him Into Custody

On November 26, an unknown caller contacted the Mumbai Police control room, claiming that two to three terrorists had entered Mumbai and were planning an attack. Upon receiving the call, the Mumbai Police swiftly conducted a search and apprehended the caller, who was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

As per the police, the caller reported that two to three individuals, appearing to be terrorists, were present at the Ekta Nagar police post in Mankhurd. The caller couldn't comprehend their language but mentioned that they were engaged in a conversation and had a bag with them.

The caller further stated that one of the individuals had asked for directions to the bathroom. The control room immediately relayed this information to DCP of Zone 6, Hemraj Rajput. In response, DCP Rajput assembled a team comprising personnel from Mankhurd, Shivaji Nagar, and Trombay police stations to investigate the matter in the Ekta Nagar area. However, the search did not yield any suspicious individuals.

Caller identified as Kishore Laxman Nanavare

Upon tracing the call to the police control room, it was revealed that Kishore Laxman Nanavare, a resident of Ekta Nagar, Mankhurd, made the call. When taken into custody and questioned, Nanavare admitted to making the call under the influence of alcohol.

A police officer stated that an FIR has been filed against teenager Laxman Nanavare at Mankhurd Police Station under sections 182 and 508 (1) (b) of the Indian Penal Code.

Hoax made on 15th anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks

The incident occurred on Sunday, coinciding with the same date as the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai in the past, prompting heightened security measures across the city.

Notably, on November 21 (Tuesday) preceding this incident, another individual named Shoaib had called the Mumbai Police control room, claiming that Sama from Gujarat and Asif from Kashmir were planning a major blast in Mumbai. The caller had provided the phone numbers of Sama and Asif to the police.

This year, the Mumbai Police control room has received more than 50 threatening calls.
