Amit Majithia, also known as 'Guru', the promoter of the CBTF betting app, has been detained in Dubai. He is allegedly a close associate of Saurabh Chandrakar and is expected to be deported to India in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. Intelligence sources reveal that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is actively collaborating with Dubai security agencies to investigate the Mahadev syndicate.

A key figure in helping Chandrakar establish betting business

Majithia, who also holds a Vanuatu passport, is said to be linked to illegal betting and transactions worth crores of rupees from October 2022 to April 2023. Originally from Gujarat, Majithia has been residing in Dubai for several years and is considered a key figure in helping Chandrakar establish his betting business during its early stages. He is an absconding accused in over a dozen betting cases across various Indian states.

Sources suggest that Majithia is allegedly a partner in Chandrakar's and Ravi Uppal's offshore hotel businesses. He and Chandrakar are business associates in the CBTF, where they accept bets in cryptocurrency alongside traditional payment methods. Chandrakar is also involved in cryptocurrency and digital currency businesses, a venture established in partnership with Majithia.

Majithia's CBTF betting app has Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi as its brand ambassador, and his second betting app, Shankar Sports News, features cricketer Manish Pandey as its brand ambassador. He is a prominent figure in the Bollywood industry and served as the Presenting Partner for the Iconic Gold Awards 2023. This annual awards ceremony recognises outstanding performers in the Indian film and TV industry, with notable figures from Bollywood and television receiving awards under the banner of the CBTF betting app.
