Attention Commuters! MMRDA Opens 100-Metre FOB Connecting Mumbai Metro Line 3 To CSMIA Terminal |
Mumbai: Flyers using Mumbai Metro Line 3 can now walk directly from the metro station to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport’s Terminal 2, thanks to a newly constructed foot over bridge (FOB) built by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
Bypassing Road Traffic
The 100-metre-long bridge connects Lift Entry/Exit A1 at the ground level of the CSMIA–T2 Metro Station straight to the terminal building, enabling passengers to bypass road traffic and cut travel time.
Part of Metro Line 3 Integration Plan
MMRDA officials said the link aims to make airport access faster, easier, and more convenient for metro commuters, especially during peak travel hours. The connectivity is part of efforts to integrate Mumbai Metro Line 3 also known as the Aqua Line with key transport hubs across the city.
Current Operational Stretch
The Metro Line 3 underground corridor, once fully operational, will connect Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai to Aarey in the north, easing travel for thousands of daily commuters. Currently this metro corridor is operating between Aarey JVLR to Worli.
