Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 25-year-old youth from Tamil Nadu was found dead in a city hotel under Juni Indore police station limits on Sunday afternoon.
Preliminary investigation revealed that he committed suicide by consuming thinner.
However, the reason behind his extreme decision is yet not clear as no note was recovered from his place. Juni Indore police station in-charge Anil Gupta said that the deceased was identified as Santosh Kumar, a native of Dindigul in Tamil Nadu.
He was a marketing manager in a fertiliser company and had come to the city for business purposes. He was staying at the hotel in Sindhu Nagar since January 1. The hotel manager informed police that he was suspicious of a mishap when Santosh did not open his room for a day. The room was locked from inside and when he looked inside through the window Santosh was lying on the floor.
The police reached the spot and found him dead after breaking the door. When they checked, a glass was found in the bathroom from which thinner smell was emanating and vomit was spilled on the floor, indicating that he might have consumed thinner, leading to his death. The police began a probe into the case and sent the body for autopsy examination.
