Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): On Ganga Dussehra, a Simhastha Mahaparv-like scene was witnessed in the ancient city of Ujjain on Thursday. 

Naga sadhus took out a procession with chariots, horses, bands, drums, and Kadabin under the leadership of Juna Akhada and Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad.

Saints also took a dip in the Neelganga Sarovar. Naga sadhus associated with Shri Panchdashnam Juna Akhada and Akhada Parishad took a dip in the Neelganga Sarovar in Ujjain.

Along the lines of Simhastha, a procession of saints was also taken out. On the Ganga Dussehra festival, the procession of saints started from the Simhastha halting place Neelganga at 11 am.

In the procession, saints and sages walked with chariots, horses, bands, drums, and their deities. After this, they took a dip in Neelganga Sarovar and performed the aarti of Maa Neelganga. Along with Mahaarti, 1.25 quintals of halwa was offered as prasad.

On Ganga Dussehra, Maa Neelganga was decorated in the evening, and Maa Ganga’s aarti was performed. The girls of Venu Nad Dance Academy presented Ganga Stuti. Also, a bhandara was organised in Shivanjali Garden for the residents of the area.

General secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad Srimahant Hari Giri, said that on this occasion, the president of the Parishad and secretary of Niranjani Akhada, Ravindra Puri, Jagatguru Swami Veerbhadra Nandgiri, deputy Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kapil Puri, Mahamandaleshwar Shraddha Giri, Mahamandaleshwar Chetna Giri, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shanti Swaroopanand Giri, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Bhagwatanand Giri, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shaileshanand Giri, Naga Sadhus, and officials of Juna Akhada were present.
