Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 13-year-old student in Indore committed suicide by hanging himself on Thursday night. Initial investigation revealed that the student had lost ₹2800 in the online free fire game. He was afraid that his family would get angry and punish him.
Deceased identified as Akalank Jain (13), a student living in Anurag Nagar of MIG area. His grandfather was the first to see him hanging on the noose. The family immediately brought the son down and took him to DNS Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. After this, the hospital administration informed the police.
Mother's debit card linked to the game
According to police, Akalank had a mobile without a SIM, which was connected to Wi-Fi. He had linked his mother's debit card to the gaming ID, through which money was transacted.
After losing, Akalank had given this information to his mother Apoorva, he was afraid that his family would scold him for this. After this he took such a step.
Akalank was a student of class VII in a private school. His father Ankesh Jain is an auto parts businessman who has shops at Chhoti Gwaltoli and Dewas Naka. He also has a younger brother in the family. Police have started investigating the case. The body has been sent to MY Hospital for postmortem.
