MP Vulture Survey Day 2: 29 Vultures Spotted In Indore Forest Range; Details Below
The survey, conducted by the forest department of Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with local NGOs, aims to track the vulture population and identify key nesting sites in the region.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Bringing hope to vulture conservation, 29 vultures were spotted across the Indore forest division on Day 2 of the 2025 vulture survey. The survey, conducted by the forest department of Madhya Pradesh in collaboration with local NGOs, aims to track the vulture population and identify key nesting sites in the region.

Vultures were spotted in four key areas:
* Indore: 17 vultures
* Mhow: 5 vultures
* Choral: 6 vultures
* Ralamandal: 1 vulture I
In addition to the sightings, the survey team identified three active vulture nesting sites in the region:
* Mhow: 2 nesting sites
* Choral: 1 nesting site
Detailed observations from Day 2:
* In the Indore Forest Range, vultures were observed perched on trees and sitting on open ground. However, no nests were found in this area.
* Mhow saw vultures perched on a mobile tower, but no nesting sites were identified during the survey.
* A solitary vulture was spotted in Ralamandal Sanctuary, perched on a tree, indicating that vultures are present but in limited numbers.
* In Choral, three vultures were seen near a reservoir, with others flying and sitting on rocks. A vulture nesting site was also found on a rock in the area. These findings provide a hopeful outlook for vulture conservation in the region, with the discovery of nesting sites in Mhow and Choral being an encouraging sign. The forest department plans to continue its efforts to monitor vulture populations, protect critical habitats, and implement strategies for their conservation.
