Madhya Pradesh: Rape Case Against Jawad Janpad Panchayat Chief Executive Officer |
Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): A case of rape was filed against Jawad Janpad Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Akash Dharve. The complaint was lodged at Gandhwani police station by his live-in partner, who alleges that Dharve maintained a relationship with her for 11 years, promising to marry her, but ultimately refused.
According to police station in-charge Praveen Thackeray, the case has been registered based on the woman's complaint and efforts are underway to arrest Dharve. The CEO has denied all allegations against him.
The couple reportedly met in 2012-2013 while Dharve was living in the Gandhwani area. Their relationship developed into a live-in arrangement and Dharve became Janpad CEO in 2019. Despite his posting in Neemuch in 2022, the couple continued to live together.
The woman claims that during their relationship, Dharve raped her multiple times while assuring her of marriage. However, in December 2024, he allegedly refused to marry her, leading to their separation.
Following the refusal, a village panchayat was convened, which decided that Dharve should live with the woman. He took her back to his village home, where his family sent her away.
In a separate incident, Dharve was reportedly kidnapped on February 6 on the Ujjain-Nagda road. He was rescued by police from Neemuch. The woman dismissed the kidnapping as a fabrication, claiming that Dharve had called her family to discuss marriage that day and wanted to avoid making any commitments and hence faked his kidnapping.
Dharve maintains that allegations are false and that the kidnapping case is still pending in court. The Gandhwani police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
