Madhya Pradesh: Protest By ABVP After 90 Of 102 Failed In BEd Exam In Mandleshwar

Mandleshwar (Madhya Pradesh): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a massive protest at Shri Umiya Mahavidyalaya on Friday after 90 out of 102 BEd students were declared failed.

The fierce demonstration led to immediate suspension of principal Alka Pathak and teacher Mahesh Pawar.

Students made serious allegations of corruption against college management. They accused administrators of demanding ₹4,000 for passing marks and practical scores from each student. Those who paid money were passed while others failed. Librarian Mahesh Pawar allegedly demanded ₹ 12,000 from failed students for copy rechecking.

ABVP district convenor Ronak Soni levelled grave charges against principal Pathak, including ordering personal goods using college resources and using offensive language against SC/ST category students.

Protesters blocked roads and locked college gates to press their demands. The demonstration continued until Mandleshwar police station in-charge Deepak Yadav and SDM Anil Jain intervened.

Under mounting pressure, college management suspended both officials and requested Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore to re-evaluate failed students' answer sheets.

ABVP warned of renewed agitation if suspended employees are reinstated. SDM Anil Jain said that the college management has accepted the student council's demands following a protest.

The principal and a teacher have been suspended immediately. Complaints from girl students have been documented, and the management assured that all issues raised will be addressed promptly.

The situation escalated when principal Pathak's daughter, Aastha, arrived during the protests and behaved inappropriately, accusing students of demonstrating for ₹500 each. Angry students responded with slogans against the principal.
