Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Department of Higher Education (DHE) has unveiled a comprehensive new syllabus under the New Education Policy, set to be implemented from the 2025 academic session.
The revamped curriculum introduces significant changes, including an increase in major and minor subjects, with students now required to study three major and two minor subjects, as opposed to the previous two major subjects.
Besides, the curriculum integrates project work alongside multidisciplinary subjects, vocational courses, and foundational courses aimed at fostering a holistic learning experience.
“A notable emphasis has been placed on aligning the first unit of all subjects with India’s rich knowledge tradition, linking contemporary studies with ancient wisdom,” said Vishshit School of Management director Dr SM Anas Iqbal.
He added, “To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, all units in the new syllabus have been structured to include hands-on activities such as case studies, industry visits, role plays and mock activities. This practical approach aims to enhance student engagement and comprehension of core concepts.”
Furthermore, a specialised syllabus for BBA programme has also been introduced, designed in accordance with the model curriculum of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Currently, the BBA programme follows an annual structure, but discussions are underway to transition it to a semester system. This change is anticipated as the BBA admissions will now be conducted under AICTE guidelines, ensuring alignment with national standards.
