Sendhwa (Madhya Pradesh): Police busted a notorious Looteri Dulhan gang with the arrest of five persons including a woman on Wednesday. The gang duped victims of cash and jewellery under the pretence of marriage.

As per reports, the gang deceived a resident of Alirajpur identified as Vesta Kalesh, by marrying his younger brother, Nansingh, to a woman from the gang. Shortly after the wedding, they fled with  ₹1.2 lakh and a silver necklace.

Vesta lodged a complaint with Chachariya outpost on June 30. Police registered a case against the accused under sections 316 (5), 318(4), 61(2), 3(5) of the BNS and launched investigation.

Police arrested gang members including Ilamsingh alias Ilu Barde, Kailash Chauhan, Ramdas Panwar, Hiralal Barde, and Asma Panwar.

Police recovered  ₹65,000 and 500 grams of silver jewellery from the accused. Police recovered  ₹15,000 and a silver necklace from Ilamsingh,  ₹17,500 from Kailash,  ₹15,000 from Ramdas,  ₹13,000 from Hiralal and  ₹5,000 from Asma.

Police station in-charge Dilip Kumar Puri said that Kailash had befriended Vesta while working in Gujarat and promised to arrange a bride for his brother. After the marriage, the gang deceived the family, claiming they would bring the bride home and fled with cash and jewellery.
