Sendhwa (Madhya Pradesh): Lightning struck a farmer's house near Sendhwa on Friday night, burning it down completely and causing loss worth lakhs. The incident occurred in Bhuri Kiradi village of Varli tehsil where farmer Dadi Pita Aapsingh was sleeping with his family.
Lightning hit the house around midnight Friday, setting the kutcha structure on fire. Two buffaloes and a calf tied inside the house were badly scorched in the fire, and their bellowing alerted the family who rushed outside to find their home burning.

Neighbours immediately arrived and managed to extinguish the flames. However, farmer's son Mansharam suffered burns while trying to save the animals. He received first aid at Primary Health Centre.
The fire destroyed the entire house along with stored crops. Twenty bags of wheat fodder, moong and millet kept inside were burned to ashes.
Patwari Moolchand Dudwe reached the spot on Saturday morning and prepared a loss assessment panchnama for the Revenue Department. He reported that the half-pucca house measuring 30×70 feet was destroyed. Two buffaloes and one calf sustained injuries in the fire. The farmer has suffered approximately ₹5 lakh in damages. The farmer's family has filed a complaint about the incident at Varli police station.
