Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A pall of gloom that had descended over the Bharti family in the Hira Nagar area of the city as their elder son Kamlesh Bharti (49) had died got thicker when his younger brother,
Chandrakant Bharti (39) unable to bear the news of his elder brother’s death collapsed and died of a suspected heart attack, shortly thereafter.
Chandrakant was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Kamlesh Bharti (49) reportedly died due to some illness.
According to family members, Kamlesh, a resident of Kabit Khedi, had been unwell for the past few days and passed away at his house around 3 am on Friday night. Around 3:15 am, the family woke up Chandrakant, who lived in Ravidas Nagar, to inform him of Kamlesh’s death.
Shocked and distressed, Chandrakant felt uneasy and suddenly collapsed, losing consciousness. They took him to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Kamlesh was the eldest while Chandrakant was the youngest of four brothers. Both worked as diggers. Kamlesh is survived by his wife and four children, while Chandrakant leaves behind a wife and a son.
His brother Hemant said that Chandrakant had suffered an infection at his workplace two years ago after a needle injury to his hand, after which an operation was conducted.
He had also been suffering from some respiratory issues, which might have led to the heart attack, Hemant added. The family performed their final rites on Saturday.
