Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A sunken drainage chamber claimed the life of a 47-year-old woman near St. Paul School on Friday.

Bike lost balance as it hits the lid of sunken chamber

The incident occurred under Palasia police station limits when one of the wheels of the bike on which the woman and her husband were riding hit the lid of the sunken chamber, causing the bike to get imbalanced resulting in the woman falling from the bike.

She sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to hospital, with the help of passersby, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Deceased was returning from hospital

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Bharti Redwal, a native of Guna and was staying in Dudhiya. Her husband Narendra said that Bharti’s physiotherapy sessions were going on for the last couple of days.

On Friday, she was returning home with him while sitting on the pillion seat after the routine physiotherapy session at a hospital near Geeta Bhawan. While passing by the school, the bike hit the sunken chamber lid, leading to Bharti falling off and suffering a severe head injury.
