Indore: Five Including Businessman Arrested For Stabbing Woman To Take Revenge

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police arrested five accused including the prime accused, who is a medicine businessman, in connection with the attack on a woman, who was going home from her gym in the Annapurna area recently, police said on Friday.

The prime accused, who leads the resident association of his township, had an argument with the woman working in the association as the manager a few days ago. To take revenge, the accused had given a contract to the other accused to kill the woman.

DCP (zone-4) Rishikesh Meena told the media persons that the woman was attacked by a youth using a knife when she came out of her gym between Mhow Naka and Phooti Kothi Square on June 2 evening. More than 150 CCTVs of the area were examined and the police managed to identify the accused and arrested them.

The accused named Aman Goswami allegedly informed the police that another accused Arjun Rajput, whom he met in the juvenile home, lured the complainant with Rs 10,000 and sent him to kill the woman. Arjun had told Aman the woman's car number and photo and he had brought Aman with him on his bike to the spot.

He was on the bike on the other side of the road. As soon as the woman came out of the gym, the accused on the pretext of asking for an address attacked her with a knife and the accused fled the scene. Aman and Arjun later revealed the name of their accomplice Sahil Chauhan, who had told Arjun to give Rs 20,000 to kill the woman.

Sahil informed the police that Manish Wadhwani, a resident of Omaxe City, had offered to give Rs 3 lakh to him through his labour contractor Vikram Sahu to commit the crime.

Wadhwani runs his business of medicine in the Lasudia area. The reason for committing the crime was found to be that the woman has been working as a manager in Omaxe City for the last several years. Accused Manish Wadhwani, while leading the Omaxe City Residents Association, had a quarrel with her last year.

With the intention of taking revenge for the same, Wadhwani had given a contract to the accused. All five accused including Wadhwani were arrested and further investigation is on into the case.
