Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The city police’s cyber awareness mega campaign reached another milestone as additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya conducted the 1,000th cyber awareness workshop at Daly College.

Addressing around 1,400 students and staff, Dandotiya emphasized the mantra: “Stay alert and cautious during any digital activity, online study, or gaming to avoid falling victim to cybercrime.”

He shared real case studies received by the police, explaining various forms of online fraud, financial scams and misuse of social media, including how criminals target victims through phishing links, digital arrest scams, sextortion, fake share trading and online gaming or betting websites. He also highlighted the growing misuse of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence in cybercrime.

Under this campaign, Indore Police regularly visit schools, colleges, banks, industrial units, and residential colonies, reaching people of all age groups through workshops, street plays, posters, pamphlets, and social media to promote cyber safety.

Dandotia urged everyone to conduct online transactions and use social media with extreme caution, avoid sharing personal details, and never click on suspicious links. Victims of cybercrime can seek help via helpline 1930, the portal cybercrime.gov.in, or Indore Police’s cyber helpline 7049124445, where immediate assistance and action are provided.
