Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has welcomed the 15ᵗʰ batch of its Executive Doctoral Programme in Management (EDPM) and the 5ᵗʰ batch of the Executive Doctoral Programme in Management & Governance (EDPMG), marking another milestone in the institute’s drive to produce research‑oriented leaders who can tackle pressing business and governance challenges.

The programmes were inaugurated on 14 July 2025 by IIM Indore Director Prof Himanshu Rai. University of Denver Vice‑Provost Dr Uttiyo Raychaudhury served as chief guest, while Prof Rajhans Mishra, chair of IIM Indore’s doctoral offerings, presided over the event.

In his opening address, Prof Rai said IIM Indore’s mission “goes beyond academics” to confront real‑world problems such as inequality, the rural‑urban divide and environmental degradation. He urged participants to become “scholar warriors” who unite rigorous research with social purpose, emphasising hunger for knowledge, integrity and curiosity as the three essentials of doctoral work. “When a topic excites you, adds value to others and leads to learning, you know you are on the right path,” he told the incoming class.

Dr Raychaudhury called IIM Indore “an inspiring institution shaping the future of higher education” and encouraged scholars to adopt a “multiplier attitude” that amplifies both competence and impact. He advised them to view setbacks as part of discovery and to author their research journey with “openness, creativity and a commitment to purpose‑driven innovation”.

Prof Mishra reminded the cohort that IIM Indore was the first IIM to launch the governance‑focused EDPMG track, underlining the institute’s intent to bridge academia and public policy. He urged participants to bring real‑life problems from their sectors into the classroom, generate solutions through rigorous inquiry and carry those insights back to industry and government.

The 2025 intake comprises 24 working professionals—18 in EDPM and six in EDPMG—drawn from engineering, finance, technology, social sciences and urban governance. Their diversity reflects the growing appeal of IIM Indore’s executive doctorates to mid‑career leaders who want to combine professional expertise with advanced research skills.

IIM Indore is one of a select group of global business schools to hold the “Triple Crown” accreditation (EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB). Its two executive doctoral programmes give participants access to specialised coursework, close faculty mentorship and a research ecosystem aimed at solving complex organisational and societal issues. As the new batches begin their journey, the institute reiterated its goal of nurturing responsible scholar‑practitioners who will help shape a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous India by 2047.
