Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 30-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance due to a family dispute in Hira Nagar police station area on Wednesday.
The deceased’s son called his father and maternal uncle to inform them that his mother had consumed something and her health was deteriorating.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Sonam, wife of Kailash Suryavanshi, a resident of Gauri Nagar. Her brother Ajay told police that following an argument with her husband, Sonam consumed pesticide normally used for preserving wheat. Sonam’s son called him, saying that his parents had fought and his father told her to ‘take poison and die.
Ajay said when he rushed home, Sonam was already in a critical condition. She was admitted to hospital where she died during treatment. He added that for the past several days, the couple had been quarrelling frequently, though Sonam had not shared the details with her family.

Family members further alleged that Kailash had kept the pesticide at home earlier. He works in a hotel and was not present during the incident. No suicide note was recovered from the scene. Police began a probe and conducted post-mortem of the deceased.
