Bengaluru: A tourist had a miraculous escape from a wild elephant attack in Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve. The elephant charged at the tourist from Kerala. The incident was captured on camera, and soon the disturbing visuals surfaced online.
In the viral video, it can be seen that the tusker charged at the tourist, pushing him to the ground. The tourist was then trampled by the elephant. However, he managed to escape miraculously after sustaining some injuries. The incident took place on the Ooty-Mysuru national highway.

The video was shot by fellow tourists. The incident took place when the man tried to take a selfie with the animal, reported Matrubhoomi. Suddenly, the elephant charged at him. The man stumbled and fell as he was trying to get onto the road. The animal left without harming the tourist much.
The man from Kerala was rushed to a hospital. The forest department has not yet released the identity of the tourist. His condition is reported to be serious. The video shows several vehicles and tourists at the spot. Notably, stopping of vehicles are prohibited on the highway.
For the unversed, Bandipur is a key tourist spot in Karnataka.
Woman Killed By Tiger In Bandipur:
In June this year, a 32-year-old woman was killed in a tiger attack near Omkar range in Chamarajanagara district under Bandipur Tiger Reserve limits. The deceased was identified as Puttamma, a resident of Gundlupet taluk of this district.
The incident took plce when the woman was herding her cattle. The tiger attacked the woman and dragged her for 100 meters from the spot. As soon as the villagers came to know about the incident, they informed the forest department officials who reached the place. They recovered the body. After post-mortem, her body will be handed over to her family.
