Viral Video: Guards Slap, Abuse TTE For Conducting Check On SLR Coach At Prayagraj Station; Railway Launches Investigation
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued the TTE and arranged for his medical examination. A formal complaint has been lodged, and railway authorities have ordered an investigation.

A shocking incident of a Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE) being assaulted by railway guards at Prayagraj Junction has come to light after a video of the altercation went viral on social media on Wednesday morning. The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday afternoon aboard the Mumbai-Prayagraj Duronto Express during a routine ticket-checking operation.
TTE MK Poddar, who was on duty from Satna, was conducting ticket checks, including in the guard coach (SLR). This reportedly angered guard Jagdish Prasad, who then allegedly called some of his colleagues to confront the TTE upon reaching Prayagraj Junction.
When the train arrived at the station around 1 PM, Poddar was surrounded by a group of railway staff on the platform. The viral video shows the TTE being slapped, punched, and verbally abused while surrounded by the attackers. Despite the presence of RPF personnel, who attempted to intervene, the assault continued.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued the TTE and arranged for his medical examination. A formal complaint has been lodged, and railway authorities have ordered an investigation.
Senior DCM (Divisional Commercial Manager) Himanshu Shukla stated, "This is a serious matter. The DOM (Divisional Operations Manager) has been directed to investigate. Based on CCTV footage and the viral video, strict action will be taken against those responsible."
