A video of a violent clash between devotees and vendors has surfaced from Rajasthan's famous Khatushyamji temple in Sikar district. The purported video shows shopkeepers beating devotees with flag staffs. According to reports, the brawl broke out after some devotees entered the shop to save themselves from rain, leading to a heated argument and then a fight.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday when it started raining, causing devotees to find shelter in shops. Shopkeepers asked devotees to vacate the shop and take shelter elsewhere, which led to an argument.
According to reports, when devotees refused to leave the shop, the angered shopkeeper started beating them with sticks. The viral video shows shopkeepers brutally assaulting the devotees, showing no mercy even to women devotees.
After the video of the incident became viral, the police took cognisance of the incident and arrested people involved in the assault.
