According to reports, a coal-laden freight train was entering the thermal project when the CISF Bolero attempted to cross an unmanned railway crossing within the plant premises. The slow speed of the freight train and the driver's application of brakes helped bring the power engine to a halt after the collision.
It was reported that a CISF sub-inspector, jawans, and a driver were traveling in the Bolero. Fortunately, none of the occupants sustained injuries in the accident. The Bolero, which became stuck on the railway tracks, was later removed using a hydraulic crane to clear the tracks. The CISF officers and personnel were reportedly on a routine patrol when the accident occurred.
