UP Horror: 6-Year-Old Girl Brutally Raped, Mouth Stuffed With Foil; Accused Arrested After Police Encounter

Hardoi: A horrific incident surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Hardaspur village, where a six-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered by a 23-year-old neighbour. The perpetrator, identified as Sachin from Patna, Bihar, confessed to the heinous crime after police encounter.

The girl's body was later recovered from a drain, concealed under straw. Sachin was subsequently shot in the leg during a reported attempt to escape while being taken for crime scene recreation.

Horrific Details Emerge

The victim, the elder of two daughters, went missing around 10:00 am on Sunday, June 22, while playing outside her home. Her family's frantic search proved futile, leading them to inform the Pachdevra police. Upon investigation, villagers pointed suspicion towards Sachin, who lived in the girl's neighbourhood and had only arrived in the village 20 days prior, working as a servant. Police took him into custody, but he initially misled interrogators.

According to a Dainik Bhasker report, Sachin revealed that he lured the girl with biscuits at approximately 10 am on Sunday. He then took her to Tintin's garden, located 400 metres from her house, where he raped her around 11:00 am. To prevent her from screaming, he stuffed foil into her mouth.

Following the assault, he strangled her to death and disposed of her body in a drain, covering it with straw to evade detection. The girl's half-naked body was recovered at 5:30 pm on Friday, June 27, based on the accused's directions. The girl's grandfather recounted how Sachin even feigned searching for the girl with the family after committing the crime.

The Dramatic Encounter

The confession under duress by Sachin was a pivotal moment in the investigation. "As soon as the big sahab (Kotwal) put the gun on his temple, he confessed his crime," said villager Chowkidar Shakuntala Devi, as quoted by Dainik Bhasker.

Later, at around 8:30 pm, while the police were transporting Sachin to the crime scene for recreation, he reportedly made an excuse to urinate. According to SP Neeraj Kumar Jadoun, as the ropes on his hands were loosened, he snatched a sub-inspector's pistol and attempted to flee.

When pursued by the police, he allegedly opened fire. In the ensuing retaliatory firing by the police, Sachin sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was subsequently arrested. He is currently receiving medical treatment.

Sachin, originally from Patna's Rampur, had been working as a labourer and had only been in Hardoi for about 20 days, residing near the victim's family.

The investigation is still ongoing.
