Jhansi: A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi. A video has surfaced showing a man on a scooter dragging a dog tied with a rope. When some bystanders began recording the act, the man claimed that the dog had been biting children in the locality.

The 30-second video, which is now going viral on social media, is said to be from the Railway Colony area of Jhansi. In the video, two men are seen riding a scooty (registration number UP 93 AY 4561) while dragging a stray dog tied to a long rope. The dog can be heard screaming in distress as it struggles to save itself.

The man can be heard saying, 'Mohalle ke bacchon ko kaant raha tha,' when confronted by bystanders. However, there is no proof of the claim he made.

SC Reserves Order In Stray Dog Case

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court reserved the contentious case on the fate of stray dogs in Delhi-NCR, days after its earlier directive ordering their blanket removal from public spaces sparked street protests, political criticism, and outrage from animal rights groups across the national capital.

A three-judge bench of Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and N V Anjaria heard the matter, which was urgently listed after Chief Justice B R Gavai, a day earlier, said, “I will look into it”, in response to a plea by an advocate questioning the legality of the removal order.

Earlier on August 11, citing public safety concerns, the top court directed Delhi-NCR authorities to permanently relocate all stray dogs to shelters “at the earliest” and to create facilities for at least 5,000 canines within six to eight weeks. The bench warned of strict action against anyone obstructing the relocation process.
