Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of fostering criminal elements and failing to control corruption in Uttar Pradesh. Addressing party workers from various districts at the SP headquarters in Lucknow on Sunday, Yadav alleged that the state is under the grip of lawlessness and administrative disorder.
He stated that the BJP shelters land mafias who are illegally occupying government and poor people's land. “Crime and corruption have reached their peak. Essential sectors such as education, healthcare, electricity, and law and order are in disarray,” he said.
Yadav also questioned why the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership does not advocate for indigenous products when Indian markets are filled with Chinese goods. He held the central BJP government responsible for the dominance of foreign products in local markets.
Criticizing BJP's economic performance, Yadav said the government's policies have failed across the board. “In 11 years of the central government and nine years of the state government, there has been no significant achievement,” he said.
He also claimed that ongoing infrastructure inaugurations are largely projects initiated during the previous SP government.
