Patna: Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha has said that he received death threats on his mobile phone, allegedly made by dreaded Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Kushwaha, a former union minister, received calls on Thursday evening when he was preparing to leave Patna for Siwan where he is scheduled to attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's programme on Friday.

Acting swiftly, Kushwaha informed the Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and sought prompt and strict measures against those responsible.

Providing details through his post on ‘X’, he said, “Between 8.52 pm and 9.20 pm on Thursday, I received seven consecutive threatening calls in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang from mobile numbers +916305129156 and +919229567466. Also, at 8.57 pm, I was told via MMS/SMS from mobile number +917569196793 that if I continue to speak politically against a particular party, I will have to face the consequences.”

“I was also told that I would be finished off in 10 days. SSP Patna should take immediate cognisance and take strict action against the culprits. Such threats are unacceptable in a democratic system. This entire disruption is expected to end immediately," he added.
