In a shocking incident that took place this morning at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Hospital in Rajasthan's Ajmer, a violent altercation broke out between a resident doctor and a male nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), with the entire episode captured on CCTV cameras.

Resident Doctor Chandra Prakash alleged that he was on duty and had instructed staff about child-related work. When the staff ignored his directions, he approached the nursing staff in-charge. During this confrontation, male nurse Suresh reportedly became uncooperative and refused to work.

According to Prakash, Suresh became aggressive, physically attacking him with a slipper and even striking him with an iron plate. Other nursing staff reportedly restrained the doctor to prevent him from retaliating.

Suresh Chaudhry, the male nurse, presented a different narrative, claiming that Doctor Prakash was shouting and using abusive language. He stated that during morning duty assignments, the doctor began creating a scene and became verbally aggressive.

According to reports, the incident began when Prakash pointed out a female nurse working without a mask in the NICU, which violated standard infection control protocols. This interaction escalated into a physical confrontation in the nursing in-charge's room.

Hospital administration took the matter seriously. Principal Doctor Anil Samaria revealed that both parties have filed complaints. A senior doctor, Sanjeev Maheshwari, has been appointed to head an investigation committee and submit a quick report.

Nursing Superintendent Chetan Meena warned that the nursing staff might go on strike if any one-sided action is taken.
