Mumbai, April 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government in the center on Wednesday announced that it will conduct caste census along with the population census on Wednesday (April 30). Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha (LoP) Rahul Gandhi's old video has surfaced on social media in which he is seen challenging the government of passing the caste census in the Parliament.
Rahul Gandhi is seen in the video addressing in the Parliament. He said, "Jitna aap log mera insult karna chahte hain, aap khushi se kijiye, aap roz kariye. Magar ek baat mat bhuliye, jaati janganna ko hum yahan pass karke dikhayenge." (You can insult me as much as you want, but remember one thing we will pass the caste census in this Parliament)
Rahul Gandhi said in a social media post today, "I told you, Modiji will have to get the 'caste census' done, we will get it done! This is our vision and we will ensure that the government conducts a transparent and effective caste census. Everyone should know clearly who has what participation in the institutions and power structure of the country. Caste census is a new dimension of development. I congratulate the lakhs of people and all the organisations who were constantly fighting the Modi government demanding this - I am proud of you."
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) has approved caste census in the upcoming population census."
