Greater Noida: Police Constable Slaps Young Man & Woman On Road After Argument; Suspended After VIDEO Viral

Greater Noida, April 29: A shocking incident has come to light from Greater Noida, where a police constable slapped a man and a woman after a heated argument in the middle of the road. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. The police constable has been suspended after the video went viral.

The incident reportedly occurred on the night of Sunday (April 27) near Holy Public School in the Beta-2 police station area. The senior police officials took action against the accused cop after the video of the assault went viral on social media.

Details About The Incident

Police Constable Bhupendra Malik, who was on duty in a Police Response Vehicle (PRV) and a Home Guard had arrived at the spot after receiving a call about a road accident. However, an argument broke out between the police team and the people who had made the emergency call.

The video shows that during the heated exchange, Constable Bhupendra Malik slapped a young man. When a woman tried to stop the fight and calm things down, the police constable slapped her too and pushed her away.

Incident Caught On Camera

A bystander recorded the entire incident on video. In the footage, the constable can be seen hitting the woman. He then turns toward the person filming the incident. The video quickly spread on social media and sparked strong reactions from the internet users.

One of the users said, "Agar video na hoti to kya police yakeen karti ki UP police kitni besharam hai." Another user said, "Why is the police doing all this every day? Was the Constitution pledged to do all this to the public?"

Police Action

Senior officers took immediate notice of the incident. Constable Bhupendra Malik has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been launched. In addition, the police have sent a report to the Commandant of the Home Guard for action to be taken against the Home Guard who was present at the spot.

Police Statement

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate said, "Taking cognizance of the said video, departmental action has been taken against the concerned PRV personnel and he has been suspended. A report has also been sent to the Commandant Home Guard for necessary action."
