Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh), April 29: In a shocking incident, an ice cream seller was abused and thrashed by a traffic police officer in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi on Tuesday (April 29). The boy suffered serious injuries his head due to which he was bleeding. The cop was furious at the boy after he asked him to pay up for the two ice cream he took from the seller. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media.
It can be seen in the video that the traffic police officer is hitting the boy. While in another video, the boy is seen narrating the ordeal he went through. There are reports that the traffic police sub-inspector (SI) has been suspended after the victim lodged a complaint against him.
Details About The Incident
As per reports, the incident occurred in the Premnagar Police Station area at the Bijouli Growth Center. The victim boy has been identified as Rohit who sells ice cream for a living. He said that he was on his way to drop his sister to school for her exam in Hansari on his ice cream cart. On the way, traffic police SI Ram Niwas stopped him and enquired about the papers of the vehicle.
Rohit further said that he did not had papers with him, so the constable took two ice cream from him. He further said that he returned to the cop after dropping his sister to school and asked him to pay for the ice cream he took. The traffic cop started abusing the boy. Rohit said that the traffic cop said, "Fir aa gaya tu maa ***."
He also said that the cop took his mobile phone from him and said, "I will not return the phone, call whoever you want to." Rohit was bleeding from the head and said that he was bleeding as the cop hit him with a stick. He also said that the cop started recording a video saying that the boy had hit himself due to which he was bleeding. Rohit later told his parents about the incident, and they came to the spot.
Police Action
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) BBGST Murthy immediately ordered an investigation by the Circle Officer (CO) of the traffic department. Within just five hours SI Ram Niwas was suspended based on the investigation report. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against Ram Niwas.
