EAM S Jaishankar Confirms Ceasefire Between India & Pakistan Days After Operation Sindoor
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed that ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also shared the news of ceasefire in a press conference today.

New Delhi, May 10: India and Pakistan have agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire on Saturday. The tensions between both the countries escalated after India carried out Operation Sindoor, striking terrorist locations deep inside Pakistan. Pakistan also retaliated by firing around eight missiles which were intercepted by India. However, both countries agreed on a ceasefire and also announced stoppage of firing from 1700 hours today.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed that ceasefire between India and Pakistan after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also shared the news of ceasefire in a press conference today.
Jaishankar took to his official social media account and said, "India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so."
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said in a social media post that both the countries agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire after US mediation.
He said, "After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed ceasefire and said, "Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity!"
