Bettiah: Heavy rains lashed Bettiah city in Bihar's West Champaran district on Sunday, leaving roads heavily waterlogged and exposing the shortcomings of the Municipal Corporation.
In Kamalnath Nagar, a young man riding a motorbike fell into a drain that was completely hidden beneath the accumulated rainwater.
The man was travelling along the road when he failed to notice the submerged drain and suddenly plunged into it along with his bike.
Bystanders at the scene acted quickly, rushing to his aid and successfully rescuing him in time, thereby averting a major tragedy.
A video of the incident has surfaced and is circulating widely on social media. It shows the man falling into the drain, which was concealed by waterlogging. The water level was so high that even the motorbike became invisible after the fall.
