Arunachal Pradesh Rains: IAF Rescues 14 People Stranded In Flood-Hit Lower Dibang Valley - WATCH
The IAF carried out a critical humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission to rescue 14 people stranded in the middle of the flooded Bomjir River in the Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh.

Heavy rains lashed northeastern states, including Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The Indian Air Force (IAF) was pressed into a rescue operation after a request by the state administrations of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
As part of a critical humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission, the IAF rescued 14 people stranded in the middle of the flooded Bomjir River in the Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh. The water level in the river rose due to heavy showers. The area was cut off from the mainland.
The operation was undertaken by Mi-17 helicopter. The IAF's Eastern Air Command shared a video of the rescue operation. The rescued individuals were airlifted to a safe location.

On Saturday, seven people were killed due to a landslide on the National Highway in Seppa West assembly constituency. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to the Chief Ministers of Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh in response to the ongoing heavy rainfall affecting these states.
"Spoke with the Chief Ministers of Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh in the wake of ongoing heavy rainfall in their states. Also assured them of every possible help to tackle any situation. The Modi government stands like a rock in support of the people of the Northeast," Shah said on X.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for Arunachal Pradesh for the coming week, till June 6.
Meanwhile, in Assam, around 10 people reportedly lost their lives in the rain-related incidents.
Over 1,000 tourists have been stranded in North Sikkim's Lachung.
