‘You Should Ask Her Too What Happened’, Anurag Basu Breaks Silence On Triptii Dimri’s Exit; Reveals Kartik Starrer Is Not Titled Aashiqui 3

Anurag Basu’s next starring Kartik Aaryan has been in the news for the past few months. The movie was supposed to the third instalment of Aashiqui, and Kartik and Triptii Dimri, were going to star as leads in the movie. But, there were reports that the makers have decided to replace Triptii because of her bold image post Animal. While Basu had denied the reports earlier, now he has once again opened up about Triptii’s exit and has also revealed that the movie is not Aashiqui franchise anymore.

While talking to HT City, he said that he doesn’t know what the film is called right now, but the shooting will start this month. Basu also revealed that they haven’t finalised the lead actress, but in a week an announcement about it will be made.

Further talking about Triptii’s exit he said, “Image was not the reason. I am the last person to judge an actor on the basis of the other characters they have played on screen. Aashiqui was not even the story anymore... I don’t know the source of these stories which came out.”

He also pointed out that dates were the main issues, and even media should ask Triptii what happened. The filmmaker said, “Most important thing is dates. Triptii is shooting for a film with Vishal Bhardwaj, and my film goes on floors this month too. She is still my best friend, I really like her as an actress. You should ask her too what happened.”

Triptii and Kartik were seen together in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and their chemistry was loved by one and all. Fans of both the actors were excited to watch them on the big screens again. But, it looks like that might not happen anytime soon.

So, let’s see which actress will be roped in opposite Kartik in the movie. We can only wait for the official announcement.
