Actor Parambrata Chatterjee, who worked with Bollywood actress Vidya Balan in the 2012 film Kahaani and Triptii Dimri in the 2020 Netflix film Bulbbul, recently ranked the actresses, calling Balan the 'most talented' while also reacting to Triptii being labeled as the 'national crush.'
In an interview with Indian Express, Parambrata explained his ranking and said, It is what it is, national crushes are temporary, but class is permanent. I mean no offence. Sorry. What is she called? Bhabhi 2!"
Further, the actor clarified his statement, saying that while Triptii is a lovely and very nice girl, and he gets along with her, he feels she still has miles to go.
"She entered the industry very young and will learn a lot. But Vidya, I mean, sorry to say, is a class apart in whatever she does," he added.

The actor also responded to actor-director Anurag Kashyap calling Bengali cinema 'ghatiya' and said, "Very loosely and carelessly made South remakes were dished out to the masses. Audience didn’t react to that very well as they found the same films being dubbed in Hindi.” He added, “Big chunk of West Bengal doesn’t watch Bengali cinema because they feel nobody cares about them. So, it is important that mass entertainers are made in Bengali cinema and that they fetch money."
On the work front, Parambrata is currently promoting his latest thriller film, Shotyi Bole Shotyi Kichhu Nei, an adaptation of the 1989 Hindi film Ek Ruka Hua Faisla.
The film, released on January 23, 2025, also stars Ritwick Chakraborty, Kaushik Ganguly, Kaushik Sen, Ananya Chatterjee, Arjun Chakrabarty, Rahul Banerjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Anirban Chakrabarti, among others.
