71st National Film Awards were announced on Friday. Shah Rukh Khan won his first National Award after being in the industry for 33 years, and even Rani Mukerji won her first National Award after 29 years. Amid the National Award winners being celebrated, comedian and actor Vir Das on Saturday tweeted that maybe someday Johny Lever will get a National Award for comedy.

Well, some netizens are surprised that Johny Lever has not received a National Award yet. A netizen tweeted, "Shame on entire comic industry if a legend like him doesn't have a single national award! (sic)."

Johny Lever Opens Up About His Drinking Habit

Meanwhile, Johny Lever, during a candid conversation with comedians Sapan Verma, Aakash Gupta, and Jamie Lever (his daughter), the actor revealed that he was a drunkard and would sit at Chowpatty till 4 am and drink.

The veteran actor said, “I request people, limit mein piyo. I had crossed my limits, and it’s not worth it. I was a drunkard. I would sit at Chowpatty and drink till 4 in the morning. Many times, the police would come, but when they recognised me, they would laugh and say, ‘Arre, Johny bhai,’ and let me sit in their car to continue drinking safely.”

However, he further revealed that eventually he decided to quit drinking, and for the last 24 years, he has not touched alcohol.
