Comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina, who hails from Jammu, shared a message on social media following the recent attempted missile attack from Pakistan that was successfully intercepted by India’s S-400 air defence system.

Taking to his Instagram stories on Thursday (May 8), Samay Raina wrote, "My prayers with everyone in Jammu. Sleep peacefully and believe in the Indian army Jai Hind."

His message came in the wake of confirmed reports that eight missiles were launched from across the border, targeting civilian areas in Jammu including the airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and surrounding regions. The Indian armed forces swiftly responded, and all incoming threats were neutralised mid-air by the S-400 air defence system, preventing any casualties or damage.

The stand-up comedian also recalled a phone call from his father in Jammu.

In another Instagram story, he wrote, "My father calls me one last time tonight from Jammu to say goodnight. His voice, steady and calm, urges me to sleep and not worry-the Indian armed forces have everything under control."

"His calmness quiets my restless thoughts. I switch off the lights in my Mumbai home and walk to the window to draw the curtains. Outside my window, my neighbor's lights still glow. I know little about him, that's just how it is here. I wonder if he, too, has family in Jammu, perhaps in Pathankot-or if he might be the son of a brave soldier, who won't sleep tonight, waiting for a morning call from his father on the front lines," Samay added.

He also saluted the armed forces and their families for the sacrifices they make for the safety of the people.

Samay, who was born and raised in Jammu, has often spoken proudly about his roots.

Meanwhile, the attempted attack comes amid heightened tensions following India's Operation Sindoor, which was launched earlier this week. Citizens, public figures, and political leaders alike have since rallied in support of the Indian armed forces for their timely response and successful interception.

Security has been further strengthened in the border areas, while authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.

Operation Sindoor is a high-level counter-terror mission in response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people on April 22.
