Renowned singer B Praak announced on Monday that he has cancelled his appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast amid the massive outrage over the Youtuber's objectionable comments on the show India's Got Latent. The singer called Ranveer's statements "pathetic" and urged comedians to "save Indian culture".

B Praak took to his Instagram handle to share a video announcing his decision to pull out of Ranveer's podcast. "I was supposed to go to Beer Biceps' podcast, but I have now cancelled it. Why? Do you know what kind of pathetic thinking and words are being used? Samay Raina ke show pe jo ho raha hai, yeh hamara Indian culture nahi hai. This is not our culture at all," he said.

Criticising Ranveer, the Teri Mitti singer said, "Aap apne parents ki kaunsi stories bata rahe ho? Is this comedy? This is not at all comedy! Logon ko gaaliyan dena, logon ko gaaliyan sikhana—yeh kaunsi generation hai? I don't understand what is this!"

B Praak questions Ranveer Allahbadia, Jaspreet Singh

The singer further stated, "Ranveer Allahbadia, you promote Sanatan Dharma and spirituality. Aapke podcast pe itne bade-bade log aate hain, itne bade sant aate hain, aur fir bhi aapki soch itni ghatiya hai?"

B Praak also questioned comedian Jaspreet Singh, who is one of the panel members on India's Got Latent. "Sardar ji, aapko pata hai ki aap ek Sikh ho, kya aapko yeh baatein shobha deti hain? What are you promoting?" he asked.

'Please protect Indian culture'

He requested Samay Raina and other comedians participating in the show to not make such content. "Protect our Indian culture. Logon ko motivate karo. Yeh sab ghatiya content mat banao, please!" he said.

"Don't make content which will ruin the future generations. Make content that motivates the youth," he concluded.

What is the India's Got Latent controversy?

For those who still don't know the entire story, it all began after Ranveer, Apoorva and Ashish appeared as guests in the latest episode of India's Got Latent, which is hosted by Samay.

During the episode, Ranveer asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life — or would you join in once and stop it forever?" Apoorva and Samay were seen laughing at the supposed "joke".

This did not go down well with netizens, who slammed the show and the content creators for promoting vulgarity online. Later, Ranveer issued an apology, stating that there was a "lapse in judgement" on his part.
