The makers of Aaishvary Thackeray's Nishaanchi released Dear Country, the first track from the upcoming film, directed by Anurag Kashyap. The song, composed by Dhruv Ghanekar, is sung by Vijay Lal Yadav with lyrics by Pyarelal Devanath Yadav. It blends North Indian folk sounds with English phrases, incorporating instruments like the tabla and harmonium.

The music video features a montage of scenes from the film, showing moments of familial affection, light-hearted banter, and rural life. While it mirrors the tone of the movie, the visuals also aim to set up its emotional and thematic backdrop.

Speaking about the composition, Dhruv said the goal was to capture the "flavour of the hinterland" while keeping the sound rooted and unconventional. He noted that the use of broken-English lyrics alongside folk instrumentation was intentional, reflecting small-town conversational styles.

"The idea was simple — capture the flavour of the hinterland, the moment you hear it. We began with a traditional sound, then flipped it with desi, broken-English lyrics, the kind you hear in small-town conversations, straight from the heart. I had complete freedom to match the madness and heart of Nishaanchi’s script."

He added, "Anurag’s films always have a distinct sonic identity, so I wanted something fresh and unexpected. Dear Country ended up fun, quirky, rooted, and just the right amount of unfiltered."

Nishaanchi, scheduled for release on September 19, is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under Jar Pictures, in association with Flip Films. The screenplay is by Prasoon Mishra, Ranjan Chandel, and Anurag Kashyap.

The film marks the acting debut of Aaishvary, who plays a double role. It also stars Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra. The plot revolves around two brothers who lead very different lives, with their contrasting choices shaping their fates.

Kashyap's involvement as director is expected to draw attention, given his track record of blending unconventional storytelling with distinctive music. However, the advance publicity has focused not only on the film's gritty premise but also on Aaishvary's entry into the industry in a high-intensity dual role.

The release of Dear Country appears to be part of the early promotional push for Nishaanchi. With its folk influences and mixed-language lyrics, the song is positioned as a thematic extension of the film rather than a standalone chart-focused number.

Nishaanchi will be released in theatres across India on September 19.
