Amid the raging India's Got Latent controversy involving Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina, actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor has voiced her support for the duo and has slammed legal action that has been initiated by the Maharashtra Police against the two. She also questioned the silence of lawmakers over heinous crimes like rape and bribery.

Akansha took to her Instagram stories on Wednesday and shared a post which stated that the Maharashtra Police has filed a case against Ranveer, Samay and the others who were a part of the controversial episode. Along with that, the Jigra actress wrote, "Guys I think I'm losing my mind.. so marital rape is ok? Any and all rape is ok? Killing us with hazardous air quality is fine. People literally falling into potholes and dying is fine. Pay inequality / bribery/cast system/taxes that are killing the middle class is all MAST! But apne moral standing par koi kaise dhabba dal sakta hai?? (sic)."

Akansha is not the first celeb to defend Ranveer and Samay amidst the controversy. Earlier, Uorfi Javed, Rakhi Sawant and Poonam Pandey also came out in support of the duo and stated that the police action against them was a bit too much.

For those unversed, the entire controversy began after Ranveer appeared as a guest on Samay's show, India's Got Latent, and asked a contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?"

The statement was not taken well by netizens who slammed the Youtuber and called his comment "disgusting" and "tone deaf". Ranveer later issued an unconditional apology on his social media handle, stating that comedy was not his forte and that there was a serious "lapse in judgement" on his part.

Meanwhile, multiple police complaints and FIRs have been registered against Ranveer, Samay and others associated with the show in Mumbai, Indore and Assam.
